Since 2015, in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, I have had the opportunity to create medium and large scale landscape paintings, as well as watercolours and drawings. I drew inspiration from the landscape of the Eastern Cape, primarily from the Transkei and the Langkloof areas in this region. My main focus has been the portrayal of the mountainous landscape, with at times a stronger palette of colour and a looser, more expressive and more fluid application of paint, which I believe pronounces the beauty, mystery and drama of these specific locations.
